crispy honey tofu; a game changer

anytime i go to a chinese restaurant and they have honey chicken available, that’s my immediate order. it’s so good and sweet.

honey anything is something i love.

so last night i tried tofu for the first time, and cooked it to taste like my favorite type of chicken.

i put it on top of rice and it was such a good combination and if you eat tofu, i’m urging you to try this recipe. it’s super simple

Crispy Honey Tofu:
1/5 a block of tofu
olive oil
1/8 tsp minced garlic
2 tbs honey
1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar
salt
pepper
garlic powder
onion powder

cut 1/5 block of tofu into bite size pieces. (this is single serve so you can change the recipe depending on how much you want to make) dab with paper towels a few times until the water has been soaked out. heat some olive oil in a pan until it’s hot, be careful for spurts of oil. place the tofu into the pan and cover with a top for 3 minutes. flip them to the other side and cook for three more.
make the glaze by adding in honey, garlic, and balsamic vinegar and mixing together. then add in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
when both sides of the tofu have cooked, add it to the glaze and mix until it’s been covered. turn the heat to medium low and add the tofu and glaze to the pan. let simmer for a few minutes.
put the tofu onto a plate of rice and enjoy! it was sooo good
